This Spring Break, learn how to navigate the library and Newton's Laws of Motion with robots, programming, and coding!
This series takes place over two days. Both days are divided into a Part 1 and a Part 2 broken up by snack at 3pm. Attendance to both days is recommended but not required.
Part 1 (Wednesday the 3rd):
Students will use Sphero robots to navigate the library and answer scavenger hunt questions related to STEM topics and diverse individuals in STEM fields. Then, students will learn the basics of block coding by playing a modified version of "Red Rover" with their Spheros.
Part 2 (Friday the 5th):
In part one students will learn some of the basics of how computers talk do each other using "if/then" statements and use this knowledge to begin "Block Coding" instructions for their Spheros. After snack, students will break into teams and compete to see who can be the quickest to develop a string of code that helps their Sphero navigate a maze without getting stuck.
