Vector Narrative Game Fest
Saturday, September 19
10:00am - 4:00pm
Interested in narrative games? Join us for workshops, roundtable discussions, game demos, talks from industry leaders, networking, and more! Registration recommended but not required.
Vector Narrative Games Festival is a premier one day game development conference presented by RunJumpDev, in partnership with the Lexington Public Library. Focused on crafting interactive narratives, the festival brings together writers, designers, and game developers to explore how we tell stories through interactive media.
Designed for genuine, one-on-one connections, we've traded the chaotic expo floor for intimate, high-value networking. Meet your next collaborator, mentor, or peer in a relaxed, focused environment. You'll spend less time pitching and more time building real relationships with peers and industry leaders.
This year’s event will have keynote speaker, Jake Elliott. Jake is co-founder of indie game studio Cardboard Computer, and writer of the game Kentucky Route Zero. He has taught courses in new media art & game design at DePaul University, Northwestern University, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and IULM University in Milan. He lives in Elizabethtown, KY.
- Poems & Puzzles (Talk). Explore an analogy between poems and puzzles (eg. riddles, logic puzzles, sokoban levels, etc). Suggest some new, broadly accessible approaches for creating small, playful, and poetic games.
-
Inform (Workshop). Use the tool "Inform" to write playable poetry and prose. No programming experience required. "Inform is a programming language for creating interactive fiction, using natural language syntax."
Whether you are a solo indie developer, a seasoned narrative designer, or just starting your journey, this unique narrative event is the place to be. Learn from industry leaders through talks, interactive workshops, and collaborative roundtables focusing on narrative design, world-building, and game writing.
