Lexington Public Library welcomes Chris McGinley, who will discuss his newly released horror novel Hail Holy Queens. Joining him in conversation is award-winning fellow Kentucky novelist Wes Browne.

Join us in the Farish Theater as Lexington Public Library welcomes Kentucky authors Wes Browne, Weatherford Award winning author of They All Fall the Same, and Chris McGinley, author of the newly released horror novel Hail Holy Queens. The event will an include a conversation between the two writers, followed by an audience Q&A session and a book signing. Books will be available to purchase from Lexington bookseller Bond House Books. Registration is recommended but is not required to attend. Registration opens August 1st at 9:00 AM.

Chris McGinley is the author of the story collection, COAL BLACK (Shotgun Honey, 2019) and the literary thriller ONCE THESE HILLS (SHOTGUN HONEY, 2023).  He writes for Crimereads, Mystery Tribune, Reckon Review, and other forums.  He lives with his wife in Lexington, KY where he teaches middle school English and Social Studies. His latest novel, HAIL HOLY QUEENS, was released on July 28th. (Bio from the author's website chris-mcginley.com)

Wes Browne lives within the Kentucky River Basin in Madison County, Kentucky. His book They All Fall the Same won the 2025 The Weatherford Award for Fiction, becoming the first crime novel to earn the distinction. It was also named one of The Best Books of 2025 (So Far) by Book Riot, one of 2025's Biggest Mysteries and Thrillers by Goodreads, one of 2025's Best Books by Read or Dead, and is a Libro.fm Bookseller Pick.
