Join us on October 8 to discuss the first half of Abraham Verghese's "The Covenant of Water."
Spanning the years 1900 to 1977, The Covenant of Water is set in Kerala, on South India's Malabar Coast, and follows three generations of a family that suffers a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person dies by drowning-and in Kerala, water is everywhere.
The daytime book discussion group at Beaumont meets two Tuesday mornings a month, except around the holidays. Titles selected for reading include nonfiction as well as fiction, and are usually supplied by the library. The reading schedule is subject to change due to availability of titles.
