Teens and tweens can celebrate Henrietta Lacks' contributions to science this Black History Month by performing a DNA Extraction!
This Black History Month teens & tweens can celebrate Henrietta Lacks at the Northside Branch! We'll learn a bit about Henrietta Lacks and her contributions to cell and cancer research, we'll perform a DNA extraction experiment on strawberries, and we'll even build a DNA model out of candy! All materials are provided. Registration required. Ages 12 - 16.
Strawberries are essential to the experiment, attendance is not recommended if you have a strawberry allergy.
