Our community poetry reading will celebrate the work of legendary poet Nikki Giovanni and other poets, including you!

Prior to her passing on December 9, 2024, Nikki Giovanni was scheduled as keynote speaker at Lexington's 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration. Help us celebrate Nikki Giovanni's legacy and Black History Month by bringing a few poems to share at our community poetry reading at Central Library's Farish Theater. Please bring poems by Giovanni or other poets, including yourself. For Adults and Teens. Please limit to about 3 minutes.
