The title selected for September 24 is "How Not to Drown in a Glass of Water" by Angie Cruz.

Cara Romero, a Dominican immigrant who lives in Washington Heights, loses her job when the factory where she has worked for most of her adult life closes and moves to Costa Rica. On a hot tip from her friend, Cara enrolls in a Senior Workforce Program in New York, she sits down with a  city employee, a younger Dominican American woman, for 12 sessions during which they will work together to find Cara a  job that matches her skills and interests.

The daytime book discussion group at Beaumont meets two Tuesday mornings a month, except around the holidays. Titles selected for reading include nonfiction as well as fiction, and are usually supplied by the library. The reading schedule is subject to change due to availability of titles. For more information please contact the library at (859) 231-5500 and press 3 to reach the Beaumont Branch.
